Your area of operations
Apr 29, 2024Warriors each have an “area of operations,” that is, a designated piece of a bigger mission over which they’re accountable.
On the battlefront…
📡 one soldier might run the comms
👀 another runs overwatch
🚁 yet another provides exile
🍳 others keep the team fed
🚑 others heal the wounded
But…
They’re all essential. They all work together to achieve a greater purpose.
We each have an area of operations, too.
For sure, we each have a part to play in the bigger picture of the Kingdom— every one of us using our unique gifts and talents and insights and passions (things others don’t have quite like us!). We are all different— on purpose— and need each other.
In addition, we have other “areas of operation,” multiple arenas in which we’re responsible.
🏠 We have families— with unique roles and fathers & sons & brothers…
⚙️ We have work— ideally a place where we earn money while also serving our purpose in some way (Colossians 3:23)
🌎 We have a community in which we live, people God has ordained to live near us (Acts 17:26)
The message of the Kingdom doesn’t remove us from these areas of operations, it places us wholeheartedly there with the presence AND empowerment of our King, effectively enabling us to serve our Father by serving the people we encounter and by stewarding those areas well.
