The Way Of The Warrior

War is inherently evil. There are those in the world that want to destroy truth that gives light such as justice, morality, and righteousness. These truths were not created by men, and therefore, are not ours to control and manipulate for our own gains. Truth is truth and not opinion. The wagers of war look to steal, oppress, and violate that which is true and right, and so it is a high calling to defend against these attempts of unrighteousness.

War is evil. Defending is not. Defenders of truth are absolutely essential to protect against those that wage war on truth. The defender is first and foremost a man created in the image of God – the author of truth. The man that defends truth is a human being that inherently possesses the heart of the warrior. This human being possesses the spirit of the warrior – the spirit of the defender. He is not a warrior first and a human being second. This is impossible. He is a man – a human being first – his warrior characteristics are only part of the more complete creation that God produced. The warrior of truth is honorable and good, but he must work hard to stay connected to God and His truths.

It is of mercy and grace that there are men that have been called to be defenders of truth. We need the warrior, but he too needs protection. War is the devil’s playground, and our warriors have been called to step into that darkness. Therefore, it is important that our warriors remember to:

“…be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”
Ephesians 6:10-13
