Nearly a decade ago, Jim’s daughter Libby almost died.

What they initially thought was a stomach-ache or something small turned into something big— but the doctor’s couldn’t find anything. They ran a few tests…

… and eventually, when a trauma surgeon went to discharge her, ran one more test.

That test— a foot tap— led to immediate surgery.

It turned out to be a ruptured appendix with over a liter of toxic fluid.

They thought she would leave in a few days, but she stayed longer.
